I think there are many possible questions, and they are regenerated each time a unit test is started.  I experimented just now by taking the 1st unit test in 2nd grade math twice, and the 10 questions were all different the second time. 
That has also been my experience when trying to help a user who has difficulty with a specific question in an exercise, quiz, or test -- it's difficult for me to take the quiz (or whichever) often enough to come across the question they got.

Does KA have FAQs for teachers?  This seems like a question many teachers would have.
