When is Khan Academy going to do something about the closed captions on videos? I don't need them and I'm guessing the vast majority of users don't need them either, yet they appear on every video. Switch them off and they come back again next video. Would it be too much to ask you to default them to OFF? That way the majority of this site's users wouldn't be irritated by them and the minority who might want to use them could switch them on if necessary.
I see no one responded to Ant P. about the Closed Caption disabling option - A YEAR ago...! Why not?
I also saw that RobTheCoder put in a comment about this 2 yrs ago and the response was:

But, I did see that the CC option for disabling is in place. Should make everyone content.
That is fine - because the issue was truly FORCING EVERYONE to deal with CC and that is not the smart or best option. The best option should be the same as every other site I've visited:
--- have the option for customers to DISABLE the CC - AND REMEMBER the setting for all follow on videos.
-- Not ram it down the throat of EVERY SINGLE viewer.
Alas, forcing everyone to disable CC on EVERY video is not the smartest route to go... Now causing me consternation as to why I gave a donation to this site. Just trying to brush up on my advanced math/stats from years back as fast as possible - now, I am one of the many that has to deal with turning OFF CC FOR EVERY SINGLE VIDEO...
