My sister and I don't have a health unit like this in either of our schools. We both planned on going to medical school in a few years and Khan Academy is the ONLY good course we've found. Please keep it! We study with it every day and we're not even half way through! It's a super helpful source and it would be a big loss to not be able to use it, especially with quarantine

This also goes for AP World History. I, personally, am studying with it because I have this class next year. My school made an announcement that we are continuing with distance learning, so we aren't going to be able to use textbooks. I was kind of counting on this online course.

We are slightly confused as to why it would cost you guys money to keep this up. In your "Why?" statement you guys say that you are taking it down because you guys are "a nonprofit organization" and you guys need to "take it down due to [your] mission because [you guys] want to condense it down into core classes." My sister and I visited your page on other sources for health & medicine, and while it had some resources, they were absolutely MINIMAL. It would not be nearly as helpful as the original course.

So, in summary, I ask of you all: either DO NOT CUT THESE COURSES, or please clarify to me and all of your other users HOW it costs you guys money to keep an ALREADY MADE & FILMED COURSE on your page.

Thank you for writing to us about your interest in this content. I completely understand how important the Health & Medicine course is to you.

I can understand that these are important in your educational journey, but since we are a small nonprofit platform, we have limited resources for the maintenance of our content. This requires us to prioritize our efforts and retire some of our content due to concerns around maintenance and opportunity cost.

Please note, that there are some alternative resources where you could get the content we're retiring. For example, you can still find most of our courses’ videos on our YouTube channel. You can find more information about the specific changes we’re making as well as some alternative resources you might consider, check out our article "Khan Academy course updates, Summer 2020."

We recognize that this might be disappointing news; however, please note that we will now be able to better devote our resources to both expanding our K-14 core academic content and to make it truly exceptional.

Dear Andrea.Martinez, the fellow Khan Academy user gabbysmitherman is absolutely right here.

The real opportunity cost is that many folks use these courses you are planning to retire. And many folks have plans to use them into the future and this negatively impacts their ability to prepare comprehensively. The real opportunity cost is to our learning and our future career plans.

Please continue to follow your goal of expanding K-14 content, but things like the health and medicine course and the MCAT prep course are essential to your learners too. Many of whom will find the courses you are planning to retire are most useful in the last few years of high school, first two years of college.

I would just add to the original comment PLEASE, do not cut these courses.

And thank you to everyone at KA for all the hard work you do. All your learners appreciate it.

I totally agree; what a loss of brilliant information! I am still in high school and go to this tiny R-12 school of 100 kids that does not offer subjects like human anatomy or health.

It's truly astounding to see the amount of knowledge, time and effort poured into this massive course to be simply wasted by being taken off of this truly amazing website.

This has totally ruined my night to find that the content is to be cut.

This (absolutely incredible) website was made to supply free education to those unable to recieve it.

Well, I can't learn ANY of the content from this course at school.

Please don't take this course off!

Khan Academy please keep the health courses because I want to take health and khan academy is one place I can learn it right. You guys are taking down a lot of courses and it is not fair. Honestly, I saw that you guys added the get ready courses , I would rather have these courses and the get ready things. Please keep the courses!! Also Andrea.Martinez how are y'all small , this one of the biggest learning platforms???!!! If more people donated, would you keep these courses??? Please let us know so we can do something to save these courses. The KA Team is saying the videos still will be on youtube. OK y'all are going to save the videos great, BUT what about practice! PRACTICE is just as important as the videos!!!

I have to say the generic cut and paste reply to the heartfelt opening plea is very disappointing.

As a non-medical person but working in a medical environment this course was the perfect level for me to get background understanding to the conditions many people I engage with have. I am not aware of anything like it elsewhere.

As a non-US adult, it does sadly seem, after several years of supporting, that our interests are diverging..

Please retain the Health and Medicine course, it is extremely comprehensive but starts at a level that is easy to understand. I have only just discovered this course and haven't found anything so easy to follow and comprehensive.

I can understand retiring some courses that aren't so fully formed, but Health and Medicine is such a good course and when there really isn't a similar alternative elsewhere, I don't think this decision makes sense. I'd really like to see it retained. Also, it is not ordered on YouTube in the same way it is here, it's not possible for me to even find there videos I've already watched from here so I don't think it necessarily has the same content and it is not clear what order to watch it in like it is here.

Please do not cut health and medicine course. Please please please please please do not cut health and medicine course. It is my only hope to understand human body systems and to prepare for pharmacology and other allied health science subjects. I am preparing for admission tests in order to qualify the UNIVERSITY admission. This course is my last hope to score good marks in the test. It is a humble request to please keep this course of "health and medicine" separately as a course in the app of khan academy. I tried hard but couldn't find assembled videos on YouTube. His course is a big help in understanding medicine and health topics, arranged in an organised manner in the form of health and medicine course on khan academy.

Please please please please please please do not cut health and medicine course from khan academy course list. Please don't cut health and medicine course. I will be very much depressed after removal of health and medicine course from khan academy.

Please don't make me sad by cutting health and medicine course. Please Mr. Sal do consider our request of not to cut health and medicine course and keep it as a separate course to help students getting a full knowledge of health and medicine course which helps us a lot in a lot of ways.

Health and medicine course is a good course to revise all subjects related to MEDICAL SCIENCES. Kindly guide us to find the similar videos. Also if we can get a list of assembled videos keywords in order to find all related videos on YouTube channel. We will be greatful for assembling the videos together.

KA, you used to be cool, man. i'm joking. anyway, just to second the other voices here, why can't you just create an "archived" section of the website for all the old content. surely there's no economic argument for self-sabotaging already created content? just having it on YT is not really good enough as it doesn't allow you to go through the course from start to end in the same way. like, it doesn't need maintaining, just host the old material elsewhere, like on a "KA2" site or something. this really makes no sense and seems to be completely against the initial ethos.
