Maybe I need to take a course in reading comprehension but this is what I’ve come away with: So, basically we’re “learning” about some random subject which is taught exclusively in a language we have yet to study but very eager to start learning. I understand the benefits of total immersion but do we sit there with a translation dictionary hoping to catch a word or two we might maybe think hope we know? Or are you suggesting we only take a course that we have mastered so completely we’re able to quote the instructor verbatim in our native language so just make the connections as we go along?
I’d love if you’d bring some clarity to your post because I’d love to be fluent in a new language by Christmas.
Khan (trusted by many) could put out their own top ten list of free (non-esl) language learning opportunities (khan employees with direct experience/firsthand knowledge could put it together)

Thank you for reading my post and taking the time to respond.

My post is designed for Khan students seeking mastery in foreign languages, having passed CEFR levels A1 & A2.

As regards your question as to the efficacy of memorizing a lesson verbatim, that won't necessarily work as Khan Academy has re-taped the videos, but there are subtitles...

So to review my point, if a Khan student is interested in learning a language and already has some proficiency (CEFR level B1 +), then they could continue their Khan lessons in the target language. 

Try watching something in maths, to see what I mean. Oh, and not random subjects! Language learning gurus recommend that you watch, read, and listen to what interests you.

I'm a little curious as to the language you're learning, and level of proficiency you would like to reach this year.

Please ask Khan Academy to make that list using the Submit a Request form, I'd love to see it.
