Donation requests
Suddenly, when I log into Khan Academy, a third of the content is covered with a request for monetary donations... I donated $55 as I am a strong supporter of Khan Academy (largely because it made education accessible to those who aren't otherwise in a position, financially). However I am STILL greeted with the irritating and incessant request for money despite already donating.
I would rather not have a moral dilemma sitting on me whenever I try to learn in order to be better equipped to contribute to society. The work Sal did initiating Khan Academy was exemplary, well executed and he earned a great deal of respect from his contribution to accessible education. I can only assume he did the work out of passion and from a position of financial stability. To then request payment (not only for ongoing work which may be of increasing cost, but for the original content also) by means of persistant moral blackmail (perhaps sounds strong but is in essence what this is), completely takes away everything that was good and true about Khan Academy in the first place. Worse in fact, that it has entered the financial domain under false pretenses rather than being transparent with it's costs and agenda from the onset. I feel deceived and at very least think the REQUESTS FOR MONEY SHOULD CEASE ONCE A DONATION HAS BEEN MADE!
