Hi, there seems to be a few mixed ideas about how much code has to belong to another user for it to be a spin-off. I noticed multiple people get mad when they were reported for plagiarism because they supposedly gave credit in the code... however they had barely edited the code, just changed the fill(); etc. Technically some of the code did belong to them but...

Basically I guess what I am asking is, at what point is putting link to the original in the comments not enough? Does that make sense? Sorry I don't think I explained that very well...

If a project uses significant portions of code from another user's project, then the project should be saved as a spin-off of the original. Copy-pasting into a new project (with or without credit in the comments) is not sufficient and will lead to the project being hidden.

If only minor portions of code are used, such as generic button functions, collision detectors, etc. then you do not need to use a spin-off. In this case, comments in the code with a link to the original project is sufficient.

(Just copied straight).

Imho I think that if the program is even like 40-50%+ someone else's, then it should be a spin off. A lot of people also just don't read the comments in the code (perhaps you are might be hinting at this program).

Ok perfect thanks. That helps a lot. Yeah honestly I was thinking right around 50% as well... OK actually I was talking about another program that I think has been hidden but yeah that's literally a perfect example of what I'm talking about.
