I really like this idea of creating a statistic for use on reports that shows "how much you've improved."

It might include information like how much time you've taken, how many practice exercises or mastery challenges you've attempted and how much the scores on those exercises and challenges have changed over that period of time.

This is different than the badge you earn for the sticktoitiveness or grit you've show in actually succeeding where you'd not previously done so.

This would be a great motivating factor for the learners who haven't yet succeeded in earning a that badge or completing that task, but have made significant strides toward that goal.
