Local Storage for Website (question)

I know we have not been allowed to use Local Storage because of the potential risks of people using it wrongly. I have a website where I would like people to have there progress saved, and I have no way of doing that without using Local Storage for my website.

Of course, no one would view these programs on KA, because I have a separate account where I put KA programs in my website, so people won't be able to view my games with Local Storage on KA, but they will be able view them on my website.

I would like to make sure that I am working within the guidelines, and of course, if you would not like me to use Local Storage in my website, then I will refrain from using it, but please take this into consideration.

Hi Isaac!

So, for one, I hope that KA will let you do this... for two, if you don't get an answer on this in perhaps a week, then I'd post this as an actual question to be answered by a real moderator. Right now, your question was posted as a public comment that anyone can check out, and it more unlikely that an official KA worker would see it.

But good luck on it!

By the way, why would it matter if you are asking KA for permission to do something on a seperate website...?

@Ethan Luis McDonough not sure where you got that number from in the second example but since each project has it's own unique id in the url pre/post - fixing the names with that would make sense.

Not sure if there's any allowed way to access that using code (quite possibly since the rules for HTML are more relaxed than PJS) but at least you could make it a variable for people who create spinoffs to change easily

If you look at the webpage guidelines there is no rule concerning local storage. In fact, there is no disallowed functionality at all unlike the PJS programs.
