new programming languages and the courses that already exist

For C++ and Python, you could set up a server rack that just compiles and runs programs all day. If a process uses 100% CPU for more than a second, kill it. My university has a small supercomputer that does exactly that. Every user has our own profile, and we just login through SSH. A more user-friend interface may be in order for KA, but the general idea still works.

Node.js is exactly the same as Chrome's most recent version of Javascript, just without the DOM. Since it's backend, there's no need to worry about polyfills or browser compatibility. So an extremely easy Node interface could just force people to use modern Chrome and then say `eval(userCode)` inside a web worker (where the DOM is automatically disabled).

On another unrelated note, Pamela said this 2 months ago: "I'd love to teach Python 3 (Sal had videos teaching Python 2 but they are very old). However, we need to focus on our project to rewrite our backend code in Go, so we will not be teaching any new languages this year."
