Is it possible to assign ahead of time?

I am looking for a way to assign assignments early that won't show up on student pages until they are needed. For example, I would like to assign a set of assignments to be available Monday morning but would like to assign them when I do my weekly planning the weekend before. Is this possible?

You can save and assign later, but you do need to go back in to the saved assignments to make them live. There isn't a way to schedule assignments to open when you want.
