Assignments and passing the skill with 100%

There is not currently a way to return to the old practice system. When doing a quiz students should be able to refresh the page to restart the quiz without having to finish the rest of the quiz first.

Evan, thanks for your reply.  I see now that the problem is in "assigning" a skill vs. simply practicing a skill.  When I assign a skill to my students, it turns it into a quiz? I just tried refreshing the skill I was assigned when I got one wrong and it didn't let me restart the quiz.  I still had to correctly answer the rest of the questions before I was allowed to restart this quiz again. Any chance that can be fixed? A simple refresh to restart would be super! But that doesn't work right now as you suggested. Did you mean simply hitting the little circular arrow that i use to refresh any web page or is there some other button you meant?

Refreshing the page seems to work on the actual quizzes and unit tests, but not on the regular practice problems. I believe the only way to restart the practice problems is to finish the exercise and then re-do it.

I understand how frustrating it can be, but after re-doing it a few times I always seem understand the concept better. Repetition is one of the best ways to learn a skill, so getting a question wrong can sometimes be more beneficial than getting it right :)

I agree this is VERY frustrating for my students. In Algebra 1, solving equations unit, I assigned the practice skill for 2 step equations. I wanted them to see where they were for 7 questions. Instead, when they miss 1 they have to continue and some of my students are doing 3 times the work and still not able to get 100% out of 21 problems this student did (instead of the 7 I had planned) he missed 5 which has him sitting at a 76% and frustrated that he had to continue to do so many problems. Instead, if he had sets of 7 at a time he could make the choice to be ok with the grade he got from 7 problems or redo 7 more to improve his score. Just a thought from a teacher dealing with frustrated students. While I agree that repetition is great for learning, frustrated kids won't repeat and will quit most of the time.

Is there an update for this??  I am experiencing the same issue working through Algebra I!!

Want the ability to start over in the middle of a quiz or practice set when they get an answer wrong without having to finish the rest of the questions first.

I've look through the updates and the community forum, but I haven't seen a fix for this.  My students love doing Khan for AP Statistics practice, but get very frustrated having to go through an entire set of questions again just because they missed one.  Yes, review is good, but so is respect for the time of busy students.  

Is there a reset button, or a way that students can just focus on the missed question and progress after answering a couple of similar questions correctly?

There was a topic called either "Reset Unit Tests" or "Restart Unit Tests" that got well over 100 comments. If you sort the topic by number of comments, it shows up as one of the first three. (You need to be viewing all subject areas.) For two years, people contributed to this topic, with encouragement from Lisa Krueger (who has also commented here) and other Ambassadors and other Khan officials.

Then, after all of this encouragement from Khan, someone finally commented about a month or two ago that this is not going to happen. The sentiment seemed to be, sorry, but not sorry, deal with it. However, they did say that changes could be coming to the shorter practices/exercises, but to the longer unit quizzes/unit tests/course challenges, where it is really needed most.

I give Khan an annual donation, and this issue, plus a refusal to make the default giving period one-time rather than monthly, ALMOST (but not quite) led me to not give anything in 2019.

When I give a Quiz I would like to see how much a student know ON THE FIRST attempt. However that's not what Khan Academy is doing. For practice I don't mind the ability for the student to get 100%, but on a Quiz?

Dear Khan Academy, You need to create the way for teachers to make options for assignments. Otherwise everyone will end up in DeltaMath.

irina.kennedy Thank you for the feedback! While it's currently not possible to restrict students from doing an assignment multiple times, there are a few different workarounds.

If you tell your students to only take the quiz once, you can verify that they have followed your directions going to the Manage tab in your class. Here, you can click the "X / X" under the completed column to view a list of students and how many times they attempted the quiz.

If a student does happen to take the quiz multiple times, you can see their score for each attempt on the Activity Report for that individual student.
