Here’s my 2 cents. The default Khan Academy 8th grade math curriculum can be found at the following link: https://www.khanacademy.org/math/cc-eighth-grade-math?t=practice
It includes 104 unique skills. There is an additional curriculum identified as Eureka Math/EngageNY (found here: https://www.khanacademy.org/math/8th-engage-ny?t=practice), which includes 101 unique skills. Almost every skill within the two curriculums overlaps the other. I suspect that the small difference in the number of skills covered is simply a matter of whether some skills are covered by either previous or subsequent years.
My recommendation is to use the default KA curriculum. You may also want to consider having your student complete one sixth grade, one seventh grade, and one eighth grade skill each day to ensure a solid math foundation. My 3rd grade daughter is over 70 percent done with 7th grade math and could easily knock out a skill each day if we where homeschooling her. Since she spends the full day a school, however, I keep her homework light. With that said, her streak on KA is almost 500 consecutive days.
One final thought…establishing your child as a student under your account will enable you to assign work in a specific order. The tool for this is flawed (skills assigned for dates far in the future appear first while “immediate” assignments show up last) but it is very useful. Oh, and for the past two days it has not accepted new assignments. Ugh! Finally, the tool, when working, allows you to determine how many problems for each skill from options of one, three, five or ten. I almost always select 10 because we’re focused on true mastery. If you do not preset this feature, your student will mostly only be assigned 3 or 5 skills by default…and they only have to do one in many instances if they get the first one correct. Not very rigorous! I really appreciate being able to control this aspect of learning.
