Don't understand algebraic equation
Hi I'm Linnea. I have been working for a while to understand this equation. I clicked on the 'hint' button, but I do not understand one of the steps. The equation:
y-4=-2(x+3) y:-2 x:___
-2-4=-2(x+3)
-2-4=-2x-6
-6=-2x-6
I'm good up until then, but I don't understand in this next step how the 2x gets on the left side and why it is not negative. Also, how did there get to be a 0 on the right?
2x=0
x=0
Please explain how this happened!
