Sort by Last Name

I'm afraid there's not currently a direct way to sort students by last name. This is because we store names in a single data field, so we don't have a good way to distinguish between first and last names. This is definitely an issue that is on our radar though!

 

That being said, there is a potential workaround for this issue! From the Students page, you can edit each of your students' display names so that they are in Last, First format. Since the names are sorted alphabetically, this will then allow your students to be sorted by last name.

 

If you have a lot of students (i.e. too many to do this yourself), you can have your students edit their own display names via their Account Settings page.
