Custom content / additions to the platform

I'm interested in using Khan Academy at my school to completely change the educational experience, as Sal Khan suggests in his Youtube video "Re-imagining education using Video". However, I might want some additions to the platform. I saw a post about partnering with Khan Academy to create content, and I read that currently Khan academy isn't partnering for content creation. I guess I have 2 questions:

1- Is it possible to partner with Khan Academy in order to add custom features to the platform (so not for content creation)?

2- If the answer to 1 is no, is the source code available so that my software engineers can add new features? I see that Khan academy has its code on Github (https://github.com/Khan) but I read a post that says that a lot of the source code is public, but some of it is private. So can I have a general idea of what kind of code is available and what it allows me to modify? There are way too many repos on Github and there doesn't seem to be a guide about this.

That's a great initiative. The thing that I never understand is why do you want to partner or create a non-profit or profit organization that offers education when you have KA. It doesn't cost you anything to just implement it in the classrooms and incite children to use it.

I have been requesting, with no luck, that the website be open sourced for years. Many of the widgets used in KA are in github, but the website itself is not.

I have SOOOO many improvements I want to help make to the site. Keep pressing them for this, maybe they'll do it.
