Staying safe from malicious programs | A simple trick
I believe we are all aware of the recent scourge of malicious programs and people who are using their knowledge of computing to wreck people's experiences here at Khan academy.
These include: project wiping, people being impersonated, and so on.
Here is a simple yet effective trick that will ensure that all your projects are safe from harm. It only takes a minute.
Copy and paste all the code from a project into a digital document. Perhaps a sticky note or a Word document. You can even go for the ultra-safe option and store the documents on a cloud such as Google Drive, Onedrive, or Dropbox.
This method locks all your projects under a tight shield, and keeps them safe so that if someone does succeed in wiping any of your programs, then you can simply paste them into a new program and save.
The only thing you'd lose would be votes.
