Remember my video player preferences from prior settings.

Frankly, as a teacher, I don't want the settings for speed saved.  I'd prefer that I have the ability to disable the faster speed, because I don't want the students to set the videos and ignore them.

There are people who self-study (like yours truly) with limited time on their hands, outside of a classroom setting and not mandated by any institution, who would benefit from the speed settings remaining synchronized with user preferences. That would be a nice addition to the UI, given that in the past two years, KA seems have scaled down on useful features that made a big difference in student's learning.

There’s already an autoplay function. Teachers don’t want students to set the videos to autoplay and double speed.

Frankly, while I understand that many people are here to do this on their own, KA has moved towards teacher-student interactions. And we appreciate it!

Uh...the autoplay isn't exactly the issue here. The problem is not having the option to set user preferences. Perhaps there should be an option depending on whether the learner is affiliated to a class or is an independent learner. But then again, it seems like they aren't too keen on the user-friendliness these days.

If KA is moving 'forward' to only support the whims of teachers and not other groups of learners outside of school as well, then they might as well mention they've become a school-only service on their front page explicitly, since the new changes are incredibly alienating to independent self-learners. There are more than one group of users here, but due to the pandemic...well, that seems to have been forgotten. Less user-friendly = less appealing. We'd be saving our precious time and energy that we've put into this site trying to make this system work for us, only to get completely blind-sided by all these changes that have been nothing but detrimental.

I have to agree with autodidactbot, being an autodidact myself.  Video preferences should be settable for individual users, and able to be disabled for classroom users.
