typo in statistics problem?
I think I may have found a typo in a statistics problem. It doesn't affect the correct answer, but it might be confusing, and the correction is straight forward. Assuming, of course, I have not made an error. In that case, my sincere apologies.
This typo is found in the Significance Tests unit, Practice Quiz: Making conclusions in a t test for a mean. The problem begins, "A quality control engineer is testing the battery life of a new smartphone." The problem states a given p-value and a given alpha. Just for fun, I attempted to use the background info to confirm the givens, and the four background data do not yield the given p-value. I think the simplest correction is changing n from 50 to 30, then all will be consistent.
Thanks for considering, and keep up the good work on this site. I have spent countless fruitful hours here and frankly I am amazed that this is the very first issue I have found. This is a testament to how good this site is!
