Help, please. Completed Projects not registering as completed assignments

I have assigned my students projects like "what's for dinner" in computer programming: intro to JS: drawing and animation.

I can see the projects have been completed on their computers. I can also see their projects in my account, within the class under "projects".

They, however, do not show as completed assignments. I can see they show as completed projects on each student's computer while they are doing the course work. While they are looking at their assignments, though, the assignment itself is not marked complete. This is only happening specifically with projects. Other course work is marked completed with no issues.

I thought it may be because I (or someone else) had to evaluate them, however they do not show as needing evaluations when I click on the project or when I use the sorting button for projects needing evaluations. I should probably note I have passed these projects and I am able to evaluate other random user projects.

Is there something I am missing?

I recall something about child accounts not being able to evaluate projects when I was completing the coursework myself. I am now wondering: is this happening because they have child accounts and are therefore restricted from evaluations?

Is there, perhaps, a way for me to manually mark an assignment complete?

Hello Theresa,

Thank you for reaching out! When assignments do not register as complete to a teacher, this could be due to several reasons:
- The students have duplicate accounts: it may be the case that the student is completing work in a different account than the one you assigned to. Therefore, it is important to check:
- The assignments were completed before they were assigned: if the work has been completed before you assign it, it won't show as complete on your end.
- Video assignments: for a video to be registered as complete, the student 1) can't change tabs while the video is playing, 2) can't skip any parts of the video.
- Not all students were assigned work: to check if assignments have been assigned to all students, please visit the Manage tab on your class settings.
If the problem persists after we rule out these alternatives, please submit a support ticket so we can investigate the issue.
