I love Khan Academy. It has single-handedly been the most useful learning platform I've ever experienced. It's gotten me through the engineering-in-training exam, the practical exam for engineering, a master's degree, and I'm currently using it for the MCAT. I saw recently that MCAT content will be going away next month. Please, please, please reconsider. Adult learners need support too! Is there any way Khan leadership would consider retaining content for us old people?

I'm also very disappointed that the MCAT courses have been slated for deletion. In addition to the fantastic content of the videos themselves, there is a wealth of great questions and answers that travel with most of the videos. While somewhat draconian, may I suggest to KA that they remove the quiz/test portion of each video topic and create an archive folder/page where the video content is still available. This will free up some bandwidth and hopefully cut down on maintenance since the only points that will be awarded will be for videos watched. The content in the MCAT subjects is some of the best on KA. I hope they will reconsider.
I am thankful you have decided to extend it to an additional year, however, the one ideal resources to which should be maintained are the CONTENT provided for MCAT.
I hope that it is not a monetary motivation that guided this decision. Currently, AAMC provides material that is still hard to digest, and your videos help clarify my concerns.
You made material intended for students, and AAMC makes material for students, but a gross cost. A cost that in itself that can be difficult.
I am a private person, and I do not believe to receive the material for free, I should have to provide my financial documents. Its a shame.
I am sad to see it go, but I hope that this decision can be reversed. I have never express, that I have seen tremendous benefit from KHAN ACADEMY.
The questions and tests have helped me tremendously in further deepening my understanding. I am a nontraditional student, and free content has helped me more than financially as well.

This is so disappointing. I've always believed KA put as much attention in continuing education as they did in K-12, offering moderately high-lvl courses in parallel to their videos on high school subjects - and that's exactly what made me so crazy about them. Adults need support too. I say this every time KA is mentioned and I'll say it again: I owe them all of my diplomas and whenever I have some spare money at the end of the month I make sure to donate it to this org. Now this, however, is disheartening. It is not the right way to free up server space and they know it. As a donor, I can't help but feel a little cheated but maybe I'm lashing out like a kid that just lost their favorite toy so forgive my harshness. I hope this is something Sal addresses publicly though, since it is, in my view, a big loss in the goal of facilitating education worldwide. I ask you guys to please, please, please reconsider making at least the Health and Medicine section of KA available again.
I would also like to see these retained, at least on you-tube! I have been using them to study for nursing school entrance exams and they are one of my favorite resources.
Is there a way to post the content or videos somewhere or make them downloadable to people would like to use them, once they are removed? Is it possible they could be downloaded to our own computers or drop-boxes, and that way it does not cost Khan Academy any storage space?

Prompted by another user, I just checked at YouTube and it seems that quite a few of the MCAT videos are there. I did not do a precise inventory, but when I have moment I will see if I can determine how much of the video content is available. Of course, the questions, answers and comments will not be available, (to the best of my knowledge) which is disappointing. Perhaps with Elon Musk's recent contribution KA can archive these videos somewhere on the site. One thing I've started doing is going thru the questions and answers and saving links that have been provided by those answering questions. It may take some time but I will be happy to share it at some point.
Question for KA: will the MCAT videos on YouTube remain there after they are no longer on the KA site? Not sure what that relationship will be.
I think entrance into medical programs is still inaccessible. The cost of learning resources, exams and loss of earnings can be substantial for many applicants. I think Khan Academy should reconsider this decision to keep the content free for those that may not have financial resources to purchase expensive prep courses and materials.

I agree with your sentiment regarding the cost of MCAT prep. I've remarked on earlier comments that I think the MCAT videos are some of the best content on Khan Academy. For the moment, unless KA says otherwise, it looks like the MCAT videos and related materials are going away permanently. Perhaps we can convince KA to archive the videos so that learners like us can still have access to the content. I suggested that the practice questions be eliminated so as to save some bandwidth for the site. If their reasons for doing away with the MCAT content is beyond issues like bandwidth, etc., then our entreaties may be falling on deaf ears. That being said, let's keep trying; you never know!
AAMC should do everything possible to support and keep the Khan Academy MCAT course alive! Khan Academy assists low-income students and works hard to equalize educational access. I'm also very very disappointed that the MCAT courses are being phased out. The questions and tests have greatly aided me in deepening my understanding. AAMC currently offers content that is difficult to understand, and your videos have helped me a lot to raise my MCAT score. Please reconsider your decision!

Wow! If this really happens that would be awesome! Thank you Khan Academy - this is great news! I certainly hope it comes to fruition. I was frantically trying to get thru as many videos as possible before the late Sep date. OK - deep breath... Fingers crossed.
