Hosting Khan Academy Content on Local Servers in Nepal
Dear Khan Academy Team,
We are a non-profit organization - www. ict4dnepal.org and spearhead online learning, telemedicine, broadband connectivity and much more in rural Nepal. Many of these locations do not have high speed connectivity or have poor internet service.
Is there any way that some courses (math, chemistry, physics, english, etc.) could be hosted on local servers in remote/rural Nepal? The hosting cost, maintenance, etc. would be handled by local resource persons - training for server/local cache management would be our responsibility - while the content would be from Khan Academy.
We would also take the responsibility to update the content periodically - let's say every three months or even sooner if you so require.
We also work with NREN - (think of it equivalent to Internet2/GEANT/etc.) to provide academic material acrosss all research and education institutes that have access to high speed networks.
Please do let us know if there is any model through which we can work on this and go forward.
I have been an avid user of KA for the past few years, and have personally used it to brush up my math and other skills. It is the absolute the most exciting and informative system going.
Thank you so much for your contribution to society.
Regards,
Abhimanyu.
