SAT prep
My son will be doing SAT prep through Khan. I am wondering if the practice tests can be broken up (time-wise) as opposed to having to complete them in a straight 3-4 hour stretch. Please advise.
They can, however once you start the section you need to finish it.
How does a parent see the progress. I've looked online and at the help posts but this seems to be an ongoing question. Can anyone assist?
The only way I see is to 'become a teacher'. Create a class and then add my child. Is this the correct method?
When you refer to "finishing a section you started," do you mean Math vs. Reading vs. Writing or are there smaller chunked sections?
@John Bogart Yes, the best way to see your child's progress on the SAT practice is to create a class with SAT practice enable and then have your child join the class.
@Tyler Rashap The sections shown below are the smallest chunked sections. The time displayed next to the section is how long you have to complete the entire section. Once you've started one of the four sections, you have to finish it entirely, because you won't be able to re-do it after the time limit is up (unless you reset the entire practice test).
Thanks Evan - appreciate the confirmation. Since my son has signed up for the "Official SAT practice" as long as he keeps working through the questions and sections assigned, he should be optimizing his time?
Anything I add is to confirm that he has the knowledge?
Yes, that's correct. The SAT practice is designed to give personalized feedback based on the questions he gets correct/incorrect. The system will then recommend exercises and questions designed to improve his weak points.
Once you've added him to your class, you'll be able to see his progress and scores on the practices, which can help you identify which areas he may need additional help in.
