KA anti spam program and automatic flagging
Today Pamela Fox advised me that several of my posts had been flagged and then unflagged by a new program that automatically flags any message with a link in it.
This really concerns me, because I'm a prolific evaluator, and I spend most of every day posting messages with links in them.
So I don't know. It's been suggested to me that Pamela probably meant only posts to external links outside of KA, and I certainly hope this is correct. But as it happens she didn't mention that.
She did say that it was only a few of my posts, so that would suggest that it was only the external links. The problem is, I don't recall posting external links at all. I suppose I might have posted one or two. Of course I don't know how recent these posts are.
Anyway, it's a problem. I constantly post links to course materials in the math courses, to tutorials in the Intro to JS course, and in project evaluations. I'm a member of TEE, a group that supports and provides training for evaluations, and we constantly post links to learner projects there in order to discuss evaluation principles that apply to such projects.
So I really need to find out: Exactly what is and is not being affected by this? Are my evaluations being flagged? Is this only affecting external links?
I'm in the process of converting all of my evaluation response texts from links to KA Search query suggestions, and I'm finding some interesting glitches. It seems that it is impossible to find the Intro to JS text on Random Numbers in the Logic and if Statements tutorial by doing a keyword search for Random Numbers or for Random Numbers Logic and if Statements on the KA search utility.
Anyway, I'd really appreciate it, if this is actually affecting posting KA internal links, to be advised of the actual scope of this.
Pamela was saying that they were working on this and trying to make it more friendly, so I would really appreciate it if we could get periodic posts here regarding how this situation is developing and what plans are for improving the situation.
I don't do external links often enough that it is important to me, but Pamela was saying that it affects most of her own posts, so I'm sure that this will affect a lot of others in either case.
