Khan Academy has changed my life!
I'm 32 years old and I'm working to go back to school. I plan to study physics but I knew it had been years since I've done proper math. I don't even remember how I found Khan but it has been life changing. In the last year I've gone from basic understanding of pre-Algebra to a solid understanding of Trig, Algebra, Geometry, Stats, etc, and I'm well on my way to learning Calculus. All in one year!
The university I plan to attend gives a severely strong reduction in tuition if you can get high enough test scores. I took the ACT and got a 27 (for which I needed a 26 to qualify for the fee reduction). My next two tests will be the SAT Math 1 and 2 subject tests. I need at least a 680 on both and I'm confident I'll get those scores with enough practice and dedication.
Words cannot express how much I appreciate this website and how it has helped me absolutely fall in love with math. I donate to Khan Academy now and plan to so for many many years to come.
I'm sure Sal won't see this specific post but if he ever does, let me say that your dedication to making this website has changed my life in an positive way that is unparalleled to anything else. I cannot thank you or the staff that works and maintains the site enough.
You are changing the world for the better and I will never be able to properly articulate how thankful I am for helping me pursue my dreams.
