Why isn't this already a feature in khan academy? It would be so nice! And so many people already requested this! And a mod said he sent the idea. Then why is it not here? It would be so good! You could view others profiles, share projects, versus each other in energy points, and send messages.
It would be epic. Please. This would complete khan academy, and make it even more enjoyable. :)
Maybe it's because I'm 66 years old and didn't grow up with social media, but I don't think Khan Academy should focus on doing social media stuff like having users "friend" each other. There are other places on the Internet where you can have online friends. Khan Academy doesn't strike me as the type of place to do this.
And I certainly don't like the idea of competition ("versus each other in energy points").
I love the idea it makes us meet new people all over the world.Make friends and it may help from who is suffering from stress,depression,etc u never know maybe people would rather open up to someone they don't know or they can find someone in the same situation.It will be a great help knowing the culture,celebrations,etc in other countries for people who never traveled or wouldn't be able to.Well i don't really like the competition part but it's awesome because maybe the person wont be able to beat whoever has the highest points on khan but they will be better at a subject.It will push them to do good you never know they even might be able to get good grades in class.👍👍👍👍👍

as a student i like the idea of meeting people ( i tend to disagree with u about competitions it will push us and then even spike up some attitude?!) but will it work?

I can understand wanting to socialize on KA. That's not its function, though.
KA is a free resource to provide resources for learning academic subjects. Every post that doesn't help with user learning costs money for server space that could have been used to help with learning.
If you want social interaction, that's what social media (usually paid for by ads or subscription fees) is for.
