Consecutive Days at KA ~ no badges for this?

Hi there,

I just recently passed my 365 consecutive days at Khan Academy - (yes, holidays, being sick, traveling, everything) - with absolutely no aknowledgement -!!! This is shocking to me. Why do you have that cute little chart showing "current streak" when nothing happens from it?

I posted a screenshot to your fb page asking about it, but no one responded there.

I am a bit of a nut, but I did work hard to not break my streak, now at 373 days - but as I teacher myself I know that ignoring things like this creates a "why bother?" discouragement in the student.

It seems odd, when I get all sorts of points and awards for rather small things.

I think that Khan Academy may be moving in the direction of downplaying the consecutive days streak. The display has been removed from the iOS app and is also not part of the Android app (although I don't know if it was ever there). Personally, I am more interested in consecutive days than energy points.

Thanks for the info, Regina - I had no idea.

Yes - it seems strange to me not to value consecutive days, since constancy and perseverance is really what pays off in the long run. I am a classical musician, so I know well that everyday "practice makes perfect"!
