I have been encountering some problems with the ipad app version of Khan Academy,

First, on mastery challenges, the only option to enter an answer is a write-in pad below. This write-in pad sometimes does not recognize when I write the square root symbol and does not recognize any other root at all (such as cube root).

I wanted to ask a question on the Algebra I forum but since you can only submit a question on a video page, the ipad version of the app does not offer a space for comments or questions while watching a video.

Will there be any updates to this app soon? Will this question reach a staff member at Khan Academy or is it just a forum for other Khan Academy users?

These are my worries as well, is my feedbacks really reaching out to developers or I'm just wasting my time and energy.

I have had issues with the handwriting tool entry, too, for cube roots and higher. For square roots, it usually works okay for me, but the workaround I am about to give for cube roots and higher should work for square roots, too.

To write a cube root, raise the value to the 1/3 power. Ditto for higher roots. Raise the value to the 1/2 power to write a square root.

The only time when this may be a problem is if the skill being tested is that of actually writing a cube root or higher in radicand (with the root symbol) form. If this is what you need to do, your iPad likely has an Internet browser, probably Safari. Go to the Khan Academy web site and do that portion of the mission mastery there.
