Dear All,

Please may someone explain to me how the transition between steps 2 and 3 happened. I try, but still cannot wrap my head around.

Any reply will be deeply appreciated.

Hi there,

Going from Step 2 to Step 3 is just evaluating the integral (finding the antiderivative of sec(u)tan(u)). The derivative of sec(u) is sec(u)tan(u), so the integral evaluates to sec(u) + C
