I was wondering if on the PSAT and on the SAT if the essay portion is required.

Hi Gaeten,

The PSAT does not have an essay portion, or at least I was never offered one when I took it. The SAT Essay portion is optional, so you can choose wether or not to take it. Some colleges require you to take the essay, but most don't. Wether or not you should take the essay portion depends on what school you're thinking about going to.
