Is there an ability to turn off questions/comments?

At the moment, we don't have a way to hide this section on Khan Academy. Nevertheless, we're constantly monitoring the discussions to remove any off-topic conversations going on and leave only the ones that can add more context or details to the lesson in question.

You can consider trying our mobile apps (iOS or Android), these apps contain most of the content and features on the website and have no discussion section.

It would be great to get this feature implemented.

My child (10 year old) is using Khan Academy to learn programming and is really enjoying it. However, as a parent, I would like to disable the comment section for their account, so that they can focus on the content of the lessons/assignments without being distracted with the questions/comments content which for now I don't think they need to have access to.

Alan Morey We don't have a way to completely hide the discussions, but you can turn off their ability to make discussion posts.

To do this, you will need to update the birthdate on their account to show that they are under 13, and this will automatically remove their ability to make posts. If you need any assistance with this, please submit a support ticket and we can help you update the account.

100% agree here. Seeing all Questions/Discussions for the neurodivergent/ADD/ASD learner take away from the lesson and are a distraction. Maybe this will be resolved as Kahnmigo handles discussions and questions. I have seen this same problem in many learning apps. Unfortunately it is just too tempting for those that are easily distracted or interested in getting attention to end up playing with the social aspects of the site.
