My kids are learning math on the KA platform and were curious if you could add the real-life applications of the functions. Even for the simple ones such as finding 1 on the number line etc. This will be helpful to understand the concept and also build connections to usage in the real world.

I think that already exists. Look at https://www.khanacademy.org/math/cc-sixth-grade-math/cc-6th-ratios-prop-topic/cc-6th-equivalent-ratios/v/understanding-equivalent-ratios it has a real-life example. Most subjects (apart from simple ones) have real-world examples in videos and/or quizzes.

also there is permutations quiz
The equivalent ratios quiz literally has "in the real world" in its title.
