The classroom team is excited to roll out a feature that has been a major teacher request for years: the ability to assign any piece of content on Khan Academy! Not only that, but coaches will also have much better insight into the details of how their class and individual students performed on any given assignment.
Assigning content to your class
To create an assignment, coaches can browse our content until they find material that they want students to interact with. This could be a video, an article, or an exercise. Once they click into a resource, they’ll notice an assignment toolbar near the top of the screen.
Coaches also have the ability to edit, duplicate, and delete assignments, as well as create drafts of ones they plan on assigning in the future. The Guide to Creating and Managing Assignments walks through all of the steps involved in getting started.
Getting class insights with Assignment Reports
In addition to being able to assign any piece of Khan Academy content, coaches now have substantially more insight into student performance - including being able to quickly see which specific exercise problems the class found the most difficult, or easiest.
You can read more about what specific reporting is available to teachers in this Guide to Assignment Reports.
The team plans to continue to add functionality to the Assignments feature over the coming months, so now that it's rolled out to everyone we'd love to hear from you on what might make it even more valuable to you! Thanks in advance for your feedback!
