How do I use the Responses and Completion Reports?

The Reports tab allows you to see the performance and progress of your classes and students, and helps you identify gaps in their understanding. To access reports, go to your Dashboard and select a class with existing assignments, then click on the Reports tab in the left column.

Video Completion Report

The first view shows the assignments' scores—click on Scores under Assignments. In this view, video assignments have a play icon above them. Any students who have watched the assigned video will show a checkmark under the video assignment.

Alternatively, in the Assignments tab, click on the video assignment card to see which students have watched it.

Note: If students fast-forward, jump to the end, skip a portion of the video, or complete the video without being logged in, their activity will not appear as complete in your report. If students watch the video at a faster speed and complete it, it will still show as complete in your report. 

Article Completion Report

A similar report is available for articles. When you're in the Reports tab under Assignments, you'll see a page icon above article assignments. You'll also notice that each student who has accessed the article will show a checkmark under the article assignment.

In the Assignments tab, like with videos, click the article assignment card to see which students have accessed the article.

Note: Both videos and articles show completion reports, but you may want to pair them either with a Khan Academy exercise or an in-class check for understanding to allow students the chance to demonstrate their knowledge of the topic.

Response Report

As with videos and articles, you can check exercise assignment information in the Report tab. When in the Assignments tab, exercise assignments will show a pencil icon above them. You can click on the score of the student whose assignment data you would like to view. 
It's important to note that from the Assignment tab, there will be no indication if the student used a bonus question in a practice exercise.

Clicking on assignment names will take you to a detailed report where you can see which questions the student got right or wrong per question, as well as their first score and their best score. 

By clicking on each question header (e.g., Q1, Q2, Q3), you’ll access a detailed view of the questions, a breakdown of your students’ response results, along with the correct answer. This report is primarily designed to help you pinpoint misconceptions!

Assignments tab

When viewing the assignments tab, click on any assignment card to view the completion report for any exercise.

This report will tell you several things:

• Date completed: This helps you identify if each student completed the assignment prior to the due date.
• Attempts: The number of times the student did the exercise set.
• Skill Level: The level of skill achieved by the student on their most recent attempt.
• Best score: Exercises typically are four to seven problems long. In the performance report, you can see each student’s best score on a single attempt at an exercise. 
• Student Responses: This button will show you how a student performed on each problem that they attempted. It may be especially useful during one-on-one tutoring. 
• Preview Exercises: This is especially helpful for teachers who want to preview what their students experience in their practice.
• Download CSV: You can find this option in the top right corner, and it will give you access to a sheet with all the assignment specifics.
