How do my students get started on Khan Academy?
Updated
We know how helpful it is for teachers to thoroughly understand the student experience when using any instructional resource, including Khan Academy. We'll walk you through exactly what your students will find at Khan Academy below.
Getting Started
Students can create an account at khanacademy.org by clicking on "Sign up" and signing up as a learner.
For more details on signing up, click here!
Once signed up, students will be prompted to enter their Teacher's Class code. Please note that this is an optional step, and if they would like to bypass it, the can by clicking on the blue "Enter Khan Academy for Learners" button
Once they've joined, they'll be taken to their new Learner Dashboard. They'll also see a series of welcome steps that introduce the new features and help them get started.
Next, if students have already been added to the classes they are enrolled in, they can enter them. For example, the student below is enrolled in Mathematics.
After making their selection, a student will have access to their learner homepage which showcases their currently selected class, daily/weekly unit mission progress, etc.
Joining a class
Students can also go to their account settings page, as seen below, or visit khanacademy.org/join any time and join their teacher's class using the class code.
