My student’s test score isn’t available. How do I set placements manually?
Once your students have activated their accounts, you can start setting their placements based on the MAP Growth scores that have been imported. Please note that placement determines the difficulty level for each instructional area. The system will always take the students' most recent RIT scores and they will update once new scores are in.
However, what happens when scores do not import?
No worries!
If you are not seeing your student's MAP Growth scores on your Placements report, but they are indeed activated, then you will be able to manually set the placements for them based on your knowledge of where the class should be as a whole.
Placements are always customizable, and even when scores are imported properly, teachers have full autonomy over changing the Placements based on the needs of the student and the class.
When scores have not been imported, students on your Placement tab will look like this:
Once you click on the affected student, you will see the following message:
Ball, Nicole has not been placed yet.Set a place to start and new learning materials will appear in their learner home!
You will also see a - (dash) where their imported RIT score should be:
Students can be placed manually in two ways if scores have not been imported: using the Set My Placements button or by accessing the individual student's Placement View.
