How can we help?

How do I use MAP Recommended Practice (Mappers) on Khan Academy?

Note: MAP Recommended Practice is a prototype. It may change or be removed at any time.

1: MAP Recommended Practice or "Mappers" is a prototype the teachers can use to provide personalized math practice for students on Khan Academy based on their NWEA MAP scores.

Visit: to get started

2: Scroll down the page, the first section you will see is an option to input your own MAP scores.
If you would like students to input scores themselves, have them go to and scroll to the section labeled ‘You.’

3: Use the dropdown menu to select the correct test (Mathematics 2-5 or Mathematics 6+).

4: Click the blue Where do I find my scores? link for directions on where to find the RIT scores to input.

5: Use the MAP score report to determine the correct value for each topic area.

6: Input the appropriate score in each of the available boxes.

7: Click the blue Show me the recommendations! button to receive personalized study suggestions for each topic area.

8: Each link will take the student directly to activities aligned with the skills needed to improve performance in the topic area.

9: Students can practice any of the individual exercises by clicking the Practice button on the right.

Note: We recommend doing this personalized work in class for 30 minutes each week.

10: If you prefer to set up student scores yourself, scroll past the section labeled You on the Mappers homepage to the next section labeled Your students.

11: Click the dropdown menu Filter students by class to select a class.

13: Once students begin working on their recommendations, you can visit this page to see the progress they are making across topics.

14: You can also enter new scores for any student by clicking the blue Enter new scores link below their current progress.
