I am interested in finding out if there is a way to hide the left navigation bar that allows the students to move forward or choose another lesson.
We prefer that they go directly from our curriculum that links to the lesson for that day. However, we've noticed (thanks to the awesome dashboard) that sometimes we have someone that chooses to do an assignment that is way easier just to say they are done.
Any thoughts would be appreciated.

There is currently not a way to hide the left navigation bar or 'lock' assignments so that students cannot chose other lessons.
A workaround to this is to assign your content by using the assignment features rather than just pointing your students toward the lesson by just using a link. This will allow you to able to see exactly how many of your students are completing the content that was actually assigned. The students should still be able to click on a link (or open the assignment through the method you have been using) and as long as they are logged in, it will mark the assignment as done once they have completed it.
