Badges symbolism

Thats a great theory, but wont they make things based on new topics instead of the old ones. What i mean is that, all black hole badges till now have been based on different topics right, so im guessing that its gonna be something related to another topic.

I don't know, the new ones, Maelstrom and Phoenix are elemental, water and fire, like alchemy, but mastery badges seem to be associated with mythological figures, the first is a Titan, the second is a Goddess.

If the pattern is celestial spheres, then after the moon would come Mars (heliocentric model) or Mercury (geocentric model), and this is linked to the Galileo black hole medal; the theme seems to revolve around this, the fact that the medals are also categories of celestial bodies: meteorites, moons, Earths, suns, black holes, and galaxies.

If it follows the heliocentric model, that would be Mars, and the medal would be Ares (probably 10,000 mastered skills after Artemis) and it would follow the "A" pattern: Atlas, Artemis and Ares.

If it's the geocentric model, that would be mercury, so that woul be Hermes, who's hella cool too, associated with the alchemical mercury and Hermes Trimegistus.

That's really interesting, but I'm not really that read in to mythology so it's going a bit over my head lol. I honestly don't see too much of a pattern in the naming, Atlas and Artemis are both mythological figures, but Tesla was a real person who existed a century ago. The only thing I could extrapolate is that they're mythological figures related to ... idk, Atlas bears the world and Artemis is godess of the hunt, I guess Artemis can be vaguely associated with hunting for knowledge? The Greek god of knowledge is Apollo, I guess that would be next?

I thought so too, since Apollo is Artemis's brother, but what I realized is that there's a kind of alchemy involved.

Tesla is electricity/light. Maelstrom is water. Atlas is the sky and the earth (air). Artemis would be above the sky, the moon, the spiritual world, and associated with ether.

The Khan Academy logo is a hexagon, associated with perfection, which comes after a pentagon (human, 4 limbs and the head).

Tesla and Maelstrom really deviate from the pattern, but in my theory, it's because they aren't mastery medals. Tesla is for energy points, Maelstrom is for proficiency.

I believe that the mastery medals and Atlas onwards are deities associated with the celestial spheres, as if they were higher "Heavens".

From the sea to the sky, from the sky to the moon, from the moon to Mars or Mercury, and so on.

Atlas holds up the heavens and reminds me of the phrase "standing on the shoulders of giants," and he is the brother of Prometheus, the titan who gave humanity the knowledge of fire.

In the past, there was an inner section of the Khan Academy called Prometheus, another Quetzalcoatl.

If Atlas is "the sky is the limit," Artemis would be "the sky is not the limit."

In my view, it would symbolize the level of knowledge necessary that led humanity to the moon, and it's the same name as the lunar program that succeeded the Apollo program and plans to take humanity back to a lunar settlement, the Artemis program, and after that would be Mars. So, in my view, this would also fit with current events; it seems extremely symbolic.

If there would be another black hole to a historical figure, I think that would be Asimov, since he basically predicted the online education we have access to today.

I believe also that at some point we will have a badge named Prometheus and Apollo, Prometheus maybe would be a Black Hole weekly badge, after Phoenix, I dunno.

Very well explained if I dont say my self (8th grader). Just one thing, think of it as if it is a khanacademy course. would you stick with one unit forever and leave the other units or would you keep mastering different units and move on? Ofcourse number 2 right. So, this may mean that we will move on to something else like maybe a badge like "Back to the past" or something (I randomly created thought of this badge). But there is one thing contridicting my point a little which is: most/almost all are interconnected. For example, I could get a problem like find a missing angle in a triangle and then i would have to use algebra. So, this point that I have stated may hold true but at the same time does have some flaws to what i want to put forward.

So you're theorizing that there would be a badge for returning to get skipped skills? something like that? hmm I don't think so by now, but who knows? in the wikia and the site code, there isn't any badge like that now, but if you keep going forward, eventually the user will have to go back and learn what's missing, cuz it would be necessary in the most complex courses and skills.

No, i didn't mean that. I meant to convey the point being that most of the blackhole badges have been based off of different topics, so it may mean that a different blackhole badge might come into existense.

Hmm what do you mean? Like yeah, probably there will be different blackhole badges, for example Maelstrom is the only black hole proficiency badge by now (if u don't consider herculean, cuz it's not a listed badge)

Sure, I think that's because it's one of my Hyperfocus, I'm neurodivergent, It's my special interest. I just do what I have to do so I can guarantee I have time to use Khan Academy and other nerdy things.
