Scratchpad is gone in Android app after 7.0.2

The Android app used to have a scratchpad in the previous version (before 7.0.2), which for some reason was gone in the latest update.

I submitted a ticket using the "Report a problem" button on the top right of the screen (which you should do too for any issues you are experiencing) and a very nice support person told me they were gathering feedback and so on, and to share my thoughts within the community as well. So here I am.

It's been a month now and still no scratchpad to be seen. I saw in the app reviews on the Google Store that I am not the only one who is frustrated by this.

I reverted the app to a previous version which has recently become unusable (it keeps throwing the "unable to save your progress" error, but I guess since it's an older version there's not much to be done about it). I am using an Android tablet if that is of any use to any of you.

Why was the scratchpad removed from the latest version? Is it a bug or a "feature"?
