Suggestions to Improve Khan Academy's SAT Prep Course
1. Recording the Number of Questions in Relation to Test Sections
I think that it'd be helpful for people who are preparing for the SAT, to be able to see the number of questions they do, regarding the type of questions they practiced. What I mean by this, is that on top of recording the total number of SAT prep questions that someone does, there should be something that records the types of questions done. For example, let's say someone did a total of 185 questions, and the system would also record that 75 of them were math questions, 80 of them were grammar questions, and 30 were reading questions. Then whoever is practicing would have the tools to realize that they might need to do a bit more reading practice. If the system was able to do that, learners would be able to get a better look at not just how much they practiced, but also what they practiced.
2. Keeping an Average Time for How Long It Takes to Answer Questions
Since the SAT is a timed test, I think it would be beneficial for the SAT prep course on Khan Academy to casually monitor how long it takes for each question to be answered. There doesn't have to be a timer or anything, but if there's an average time, people will be able to get an understanding as to where they are and see if they're improving. Another aspect of this is that there'd be an average time for all the questions in general, on top of section-specific ones. What I mean is that there'd be an average for how long it usually takes one to answer any question, alongside the average for how long it takes one to answer a math question, a writing/grammar question, and a reading question. This way, even though when answering the questions, you aren't pressed for time, you'd still have that data which could be very beneficial for your preparations.
3. Displaying the Accuracy of Your Answers
Another thing that I noticed is that the SAT course doesn't display your accuracy. Sure, you do see whether you got questions right or wrong during practices, but after exiting out of them, there is nothing that records and displays that data. Knowing how accurate you are is essential to SAT prep, so I think that it'd be very beneficial to be able to see your overall accuracy for answering questions. There could be something that displays how accurate you were during this week or month or year, and then another for that specific day. That way, you can see your growth and your accuracy from when you first begun practicing, wouldn't heavily affect the accuracy that is displayed. That way the information you see is precise and extremely helpful for gauging where you are in your practice for the SAT.
