Ability to add students to past due assignemnts -- vote this up for a cleaner grade book!!!

You should be able to add new students to past due assignments, however in order to save the changes you will need to move the due date to a future date.

I just added Student 4 to my test class and was able to add them to an old assignment just fine.

Does changing this due for the new student change it for the original students as well?

I think so. Adding the new student to the assignment list then changing the due date changes that date for everyone on the list (I would think).

Thanks for checking. I do not want to change the due date for everyone. I was looking for a way to just add those assignment "boxes" for these students in my original gradebook layout.

I know neither did I so I added an assignment just for those new kids....its clunky the way.

Same thing here. It would be much cleaner if I could just add a new student and make them have all the same assigned tasks and activities as the current class. If we just had an option to push everything at once, it would be great. As it is now, when I add a new student, it asks if I want to update the student, but it only adds what is currently due, not all the past assignments.

I use this for teaching HTML. I need to get new students caught up to where the rest of the the class currently is. Khan Academy is a great resource for helping those new kids be able to work on things themselves to get caught up, but if I have to add each assignment that is past due manually, it's a pain. It would be much easier to just change the process so that past assignments are added as well as the current assignments when the student is added and updated.
