How do mastery points differ from course progress?

The progress shown in the first screenshot is of your Mission progress in the Geometry Mission, whereas the second screenshot shows your Course Mastery, which is our new version of the mastery system. 

So, if your students are working on the Geometry Mission, they will want to use the first statistic. However, if they're working through the more structured Geometry Course, then they will want to use the mastery points statistics.

The course mastery and missions sometimes include slightly different skills, and the student's mastery is calculated differently, which is why the percentages are not the same.

Thank you, I appreciate the quick, thorough reply. We've never used missions so that is where some of the confusion comes from. It looks like the old progress page for coaches only shows mission progress whereas the new progress page shows course progress?

Correct, the old progress page for coaches shows the Mission progress, whereas the new version of the progress page will show course progress for the new mastery system.
