No point excluding people by using dimes in maths tests

For someone who is a U.S. baseball fan, specifically of the Philadelphia Phillies team, and has observed the tenure with the team of players they received in trades with the Houston Astros teams over the years, a Schilling (sic) is 8 1/2 times a Pence (not sure if a "pence" and a "sixpence" are the same thing).

(Curt Schilling stayed with the team for 8 1/2 years, while Hunter Pence only stayed with them for one year.)

But I know that is not correct when it comes to U.K. currency. I totally understand your situation because I don't know U.K. units, not just in money but also in measurements. A group from the U.K. called the Beatles became popular in the U.S. when I was young. A magazine gave their vital statistics - dates of birth, height, and weight. But their weight was given in a unit called "stone". 55 years later, I still don't know what a stone is and how it relates to pounds. When I began learning the metric system, I though that stone was part of that, but it's not.

I just think KA is such a useful tool it is frustrating when imperfections that aren't necessary trip it up.
I was further frustrated when I saw previous responses dismissed the issue with a cheat sheet of American currency.
I must admit I am running through the basic maths section partly to see if there are any areas to brush up on and partly as an experiment to see how quickly an adult learner can run through the mastery system to find there level (With perhaps one eye to whether KA could be recommended to UK schools).
The issue of dimes causing someone to be required to work on an area they know following an assessment would be an instant off putting experience to the adult learner and make it inappropriate for the UK education system. It needs to be resolved, simple as.
