"Meet the Comma" Typo
I just wanted to bring to your attention that there is a typo in the video "Meet the Comma." It can be seen at 3:34 in the upper right-hand corner of the screen with the sentence 'I want to go swimming, and then sailing.'
The comma is unnecessary in this sentence because the sentence lacks two independent clauses. The sentence would need a comma if it were written as such 'I want to go swimming, and then I want to go sailing.' Both clauses would work as separate sentences if the comma and the coordinating conjunction (and) were taken out.
I just thought you'd like to know.
Thanks,
Gregory M. Fink
