I am contemplating using some quizes for grades in my elementary class. However, I am unsure how they are graded by Khan academy. I would first have to make sure probably the same questions where issued. I looked at several students and they did a different number of problems and a various amounts wrong but the same grade. I need to justify the score. Anyone have experience with this?

When assigning a quiz, all students will automatically receive a random selection of questions out of the overall question pool. The students may be asked different questions from each other, but the general types and styles of questions should be the same for each student.
Khan Academy allows students to complete an assignment an unlimited number of times, and the highest score across all attempts is what will be recorded and displayed on the Scores tab in your class.
The student assignment report will show all questions that the student answered across all attempts at the assignment, which may vary per student. For example, if Student A attempts the quiz one time and Student B attempts the quiz two times, you will see 7 questions on Student A's assignment report and 14 questions on Student B's assignment report (assuming the quiz has 7 questions).
