College Board said they starting the 2026-2027 school year, they'll revise the AP Stats exam. They will:

Remove the following topics: analyzing departures from linearity (2.9), combining random variables (4.9), the geometric distribution (4.12), chi-square goodness of fit test (8.2 and 8.3), and Unit 9: Inference for Quantitative Data: Slopes. These changes align the course with introductory college statistics courses and allow AP teachers to cover other topics in more detail.

However, analyzing departures from linearity, Chi-squared, combining random variables, and the geometric distribution are all such crucial topics. Therefore, could you move these topics into a "Bonus material" section instead of deleting it, pretty please?

I will make sure to pass this feedback along to the appropriate team so we can discuss it. As we grow and expand, we’re continuing to add new content to offer a better education at Khan Academy.
