Flagging

Without taking a look at the exact program I can't say whether or not flagging it would be warranted, but here's our policies on saving copies of programs:

• All copies of another user's program (even with changes made) must be saved as a spin-off of the original. This gives appropriate credit to the original author and ensures the programs are linked to each other. You should see "Based on: ...." under the project right above your name if it was saved correctly as a spin-off.
• Giving credits in the comments at the top of your program or the discussion area is not required, but you can still do this if you would like. However, giving credits in comments but not saving as a spin-off does NOT meet the attribution requirements---it needs to be saved as a spin-off.
• If your program uses bits and pieces of code from multiple projects, or if the code used is a minor component of your project (such as a button function) then you are not required to make a spin-off. However, you must still provide appropriate credit using comments in your code to clearly indicate where the code came from.

If you've followed all of the requirements for providing credit and someone still flags your program, rest assured that we will review the project and remove the flags once we verify that the project adheres to our guidelines. If your project does happen to get hidden, you can also submit an appeal to have it unhidden or to obtain more information about why it was hidden.
