Ideas for new badges

Hi Winter,

I agree that those are some nice badges to add, especially since that isn't as many Sun and Blackhole badges as there use to be available. I also thank that it would be cool if they add more earth badges, for example. 

Earth badge: Watch 50 videos and complete 50 exercises in the math section.

Earth badge: Watch 50 videos and complete 50 exercises in the reading section.

Or something similar to that.

I do not know if this is a good idea or there are already bagdes for this but maybe add a category called "Galaxy Badge"  for completeing a whole category of courses.  For example, a Galaxy badge for completeing all the courses of math.

Wow, that sounds awesome. That would be cool but then they'll have to make multiple badges for a lot of subject sections. But that would also take a really really long time. I myself haven't even completed an entire category of a subject but it would also make it higher than legendary which belongs to the "Blackhole badges", I 100% convinced that it's easier to get "Tesla"(10,000,000 energy points) than to complete an entire subject. Just look at how long that would likely take.

And they would only have to make 10 badges may be worth estimated depending on how many courses are in each subject.  

If someone actually completed the entire math pre-K through the 8th-grade section plus the videos they would get about 5-6 million energy points that are including all the videos. It literally takes a decade to complete half of the khan academy if you do many exercises every day.

To be honest, I look at the community posts everyday.  It's interesting to see what people have to say.  :)

I and Blue-Ice are very active supporters here at Khan Academy and I as well look at the community posts every day. I just like to help people.

I look at posts like once every 1-3 days. I try to look at the posts unless i am busy

Yeah, I'm very busy as well because my school uses khan academy regularly so every day I'm on Khan Academy.

Are you two into coding and computer programing?  I am just curious because of the avatar post S'tephen made.  You don't have to answer.

yeah i'm very into programming. I am thinking about careers for it actually xD

Yeah, I took every coding lesson on Khan Academy, and am a very good programmer. 

I've made games, webpages, and took a full course coding class on code academy as well.

Is Code Academy a separate program for Khan Academy?

Code academy is a website that teaches you how to code.

It's a totally different website from Khan academy, completely devoted to mastering coding. I suggest if you decide to use it that you have the basics down.

Yeah, they're both really good coding sites but I also like Khan Academy's programming lessons because they use jQuery which is easier to use than Javascript. And also with the avatars, our goal was to make the eyes less scary looking so that Khan Academy may use it as an avatar.

Yeah so adding more badges would be very helpful because I remember the days when Khan academy had so many badges that made it more interactive and easier to reach goals.

Primavera was the first contest (that was hosted by KA users) the gave everyone the idea to make big contests. This year is the last year Iron Programming is hosting Primavera though :( I can't decide whether to participate as a member of judge.

Is there a badge for the amount of code made from scratch?
