Math diagnostic
Years ago there was a wonderful math diagnostic that allowed students to check out their skill deficits in a non-intimidation fashion, and then they were prescribed specific math learning experiences. This has been missing ever since. I wish there were something like that available today. I had a parent, jokingly, complain that I had ruined her son getting him started on this because he was doing math-work, happily, for hours, and was enthusiastic about his successes, proud of his accomplishments and was not playing games. Just an example of how powerfully this item was created to be.
Is there a plan to re-create any such diagnostic tool? There was one drawback, each person was only allowed a single attempt at the diagnostic and many would have enjoyed going back for another try after a period of working on the prescribed material.
