Request for Mathematical Formatting in Comments Section

I think it could be slightly useful however it is not absolutely essential.

Generally what I have observe is students not knowing type mathematically.

Not using * for multiplication, or not using caret e.g. typing x2 instead of x^2.

Thank you for your input cossine. But I genuinely don't agree with you, I think it would be very essential. Imagine if someone really needs help in understanding some concepts that the videos could not do so and asks for help in the comments, and someone replies with something like: (x^2 + y^3 * sqrt of 81)/2xy^2. This will be very confusing and frustrating especially in times of need. I have been experiencing this constantly, which is why I have been giving up on asking for help or reading the comments most of the time. Sometimes it would be very hard to digest and could even confuse you more. But with the help of mathematical formatting added to the comments and programming it in a way that can also transform the previous comments with things like sqrt, ^, and of those sorts to the new mathematical formatting. Another point is that maybe a lot of people are not familiar with mathematical symbols and whatnot, which is something you mentioned and would not even be an issue anymore if there are formatting available and everyone can use it easily. That would be so amazing and so energy and time saving and easy to look at, understand and digest.

I really encourage the Khan Academy staff to do so. Andrew

Can we have the comment section LaTex enabled. As in, have it render LaTex.

I'm in exactly the situation described by Shad, with calculus. I typed my question using markdown and LaTex and tested it's rendering.

Both Meta A.I. and Google A.I told me that Khan Academy's comment section supports the $ and $$ inclusion of LaTex. So I spent over an hour typing it up so that I can ask my question.

Now I find that both Meta A.I. and Google A.I. were lying to me.

Or am I missing something?
